Here is a really great session with one of Elvin Jones' high energy groups from the 70's-featuring Dave Liebman and Steve Grossman when they were most influenced by Coltrane's playing style. It probably did not hurt that they were playing with the drumming master himself. Outside of the cloudy transfer to digital the video shows real understanding of how to shoot a jazz group. Look at the shot selection and inter-play between the cameras. So glad someone actually preserved this concert. This is why I love Coltrane. Also some excellent close-ups of Jones while he is working.
