September Drives Mix (Teaser..)
Tada! It's complete! This mix was originally intended to be Stentz's music for the drive to me. It still is, but seeing as he probably won't be able to come out until October due to both of our schedules, it would mean the September in the title was a bit of a lie. Instead, this is my Mix inspired by September Driving from Michigan to Chicago for all to hear.
Overall, the mix is pretty chill, I tried to liven it up a bit, but mellow is just how I feel in the fall. Thus, lots of mellow guitar music here, because its the best for driving while passing the changing leaves and never-ending fields.
Also, when I gave this mix to Stentz, he didn't have the track listing. Not knowing what to expect always helps when encouraging a full album listen.
The real reason I made this mix is that I heard "Real Love" originally by John Lennon, but done by Regina Spektor at Lollapalooza, and was blown away by her version. I wanted it to get to my boy, so I figured sending more songs couldn't hurt (come on, we're all part of that dying mixtape generation, you know how it is). However, when searching for the song, I couldn't find it anywhere, so I made the mix without it and had in its place the Counting Crows covering "Friday I'm in Love" because of the double significance with the song and band with Stentz. After burning it, but before mailing it out, Steve-o came to visit and ended up hooking me up with the song, forcing me to get rid of "Friday" and add the originally intended "Real Love."
This week, when I randomly visited Stentz for Rosh Hashanah (semi-long story), he received the package with the cd. While cruising though we listened to my version (with "Friday") and all he could do was talk about how he wanted that track. So.. hopefully he'll appreciate his version with "Real Love" as much as I do, and he'll still get his bonus, aternate cut, with "Friday, I'm in Love."
Last note on the mix, can you tell I was in a covers mood? Finally, thanks to Budkie for the Slow Runner love.

Nike+ iPod
Props to my little bro for hookin me up with Nike+ (ipod). Add into that the fact that my bro lent me his free iPod Nano to run with (since it came with his laptop) and you get a pretty cool kid.
Anyways, I've been having fun making running playlists from such classic songs that would get me motivated like Ludacris's "What's Your Fantasy" and Death Cab's "Sound of Settling." Which brings me to an important question. Any suggestions of songs to run to? I have faith that all my CXC girls have been workin it and have some quality choices. So there ya go, give me music & Stentz will be happier because I may actually get back into running (curse you fall semester and the sucking of my soul).
P.S. This still doesn't make me pro-Mac, it just means I'm pro-music.

Gignosko

A heads up, Stentz has started up a new blog, which I may or may not be collaborating on with him. It's in its infancy, but as long as I stay on him I'm sure he'll be good about updating. Anyways, its all about some literary fun (haiku and poetry lovin!). So go to it, comment, and make it work!

Mac vs. PC outtakes
The previous clip is for Stentz and all my favorite Mac users (Lil Ef that means you too!). It's a skit from Best Week Ever, and it totally captures a lot of what irks me about those ads (plus I'm a little PC girl at heart).
Anyways it's just plain funny & I found it on the lovely stereogum!
